The Learning Support Program at Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School was established to provide instruction to assist students to achieve their best. Students diagnosed with a Disability are the primary candidates for this program. However, support may be provided to those students who present struggles with targeted objectives based on recommendations by their classroom teacher.
Educational goals will be implemented through the following actions:
-Provide a positive learning environment
-Offer individual and small group instructions to students
-Push into self-contained classrooms
-Create learning plans to address the specific targeted needs
The Learning Support Teacher is a Communicator. A consistent dialogue with the Principal, Parents, Teachers and Staff is crucial. The Learning Support Teacher often acts as a liaison between the Professional DCIU Support Staff, Nurse and the Classroom Teacher.
