We need everyone involved to put on the amazing shows that we are known for. Therefore, Drama Club has some volunteerism requirements:
This year the Drama Club has many volunteer Chairperson opportunities to fill. Please take the time to read through the descriptions of each job and consider signing up to help us with your time and talent.
We are also looking for a Music Director for the 2022-2023 year. If you are interested please contact Amanda Millard at drama@mpregional.org.

This group will also help hang curtains around the perimeter of the gym the week before the show and take them down after the show.

COMMITTEES
Costumes: If you can sew- great! If you can't- also great! This committee needs help creating the many costumes our actors wear for the show. Many of them are hand-sewn, so seamstresses are in demand, but they're also are a lot of things needed to buy or borrow, and if you can shop for deals the costume committee needs you! This committee also helps fit the kids in the costumes, get them dressed for each show and dress rehearsal, and keep the costumes organized. Clearances are not required.
Set Design (Props + Set Decoration): Help to gather and buy various items to be used on stage, and then help the weekend of the production in organizing and making sure the props are where they need to be for the actors. Help to paint and build the scenery and stage decorations. Typically most painting can be done in a couple of nights. Anyone with experience building things is also a plus! Clearances required.
Program Book: This committee is in charge of selling ads to parents and local businesses for the program book. This important committee raises much of the money needed to put on the play each year, so if you have contacts in the area we need you! Clearances are not required.
Ticket Sales: Sell tickets on the "Pre-Sale" night for parents of kids in the play, as well as selling tickets at the door on the days of the shows. We also ask that these volunteers help straighten chairs and sweep up after each show. Clearances are not required.
Baskets/Raffles: Help ask for donations, shop, and create the themed baskets that we raffle off as a fundraiser. Work the raffle table, sell candy grams for the cast, flowers, and candy “chances” for raffle tickets.

The stage is usually built on a weekend morning or evening, and it is taken down as soon as the Sunday show is over. Bring your tools if you have them! This group also hangs curtains around the perimeter of the gym the week before the show, and takes them down after the show. Clearances not required.
Stage Managers/Crew: This is a group of volunteers that help lift and carry the big and heavy things behind the scenes during the show. They need to be present for at least a few of the last rehearsals so they can learn the show, and then also be available to work during the show to help move the scenery. Clearances required.
Tshirts/DVDs: This committee places our cast t-shirt order and burn copies of our DVDs. These duties can be done at home on your schedule.
Kitchen/Cast Party: This committee is responsible for selling the food and drinks before the show and during intermissions. They are also responsible for helping to plan and buy items needed for the cast party, setting up the cast party, and cleaning up after the cast party. Clearances not required.
Sound: This is a show-week job. We need someone to come to a full cast rehearsal to watch the show, and then attend the tech/dress rehearsals plus the three shows beforehand to help get the kids’ mics on. During the shows, any mic changes will be handled by the sound crew.
