THINGS TO KNOW IN 4th GRADE……
~If you have a question or concern, please feel free to contact me by sending a note in with your child, emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the school office. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
~ Website- Please refer to the website often!
I use the REMIND app for last minute notifications, if you haven't already, please email me so that I can add you.
~ The students will have homework every night with the exception of Fridays. The required amount set by the archdiocese is 60 minutes for fourth grade; this amount includes both written work and study. Please let me know if your child is spending way too much time on homework so that we can determine a solution.
~ All assignments will be listed on the board and on this website. It is the responsibility of the student to copy his/her homework daily during the allotted time, into their assignment book. I do not like the students to rely on the website, as I am trying to teaching them responsibility.
~ Please initial the planner every night.
~If a student does not complete homework on the night assigned, a missed assignment slip will be sent home. The slip will contain the assignment that was missed and should be completed that night. Please sign the missed assignment slip and return.
~ If a project/book report is assigned to be completed at home, the student will be required to get the directions/rubric signed by a parent. Directions will also be posted on this website in the case of a misplaced paper.
~Dates are posted on the board. Students are required to copy in assignment book.
~Plenty of notice will be given to study for a test. Students are encouraged to study a little bit each night rather than saving it all and getting overwhelmed. I will also HIGHLY RECOMMEND that they take home books to study each night.
~ Test folders will be sent home on most Wednesdays. Please sign each test and return the next day. Spelling tests are given on Fridays.
~Students are expected to wear the proper uniforms to school. I am understanding and realize that circumstances happen where a student may be missing a portion of his/her uniform. Uniform requirements are listed in the school handbook.
~If your child is missing any part of their uniform, please email me or send in a note.
~Please send in a note when your child is absent stating the date and reason for the absence. You may email me the day of the absence, but I still need a written note to keep on file.
~If you would like to pick up work for your child or have it sent home with a sibling, please let me know.
~When a student returns to school, they are encouraged to come see me so that I can get them caught up on anything they may have missed. Please encourage them at home to do the same.
~ It is very important to be organized in 4th grade. Students were given a multi-pocket folder to keep their E.L.A., Math and Science, Social Studies and Religion papers in. This folder is to encourage them to be organized.
~ We will occasionally go through the folders to get rid of papers that are no longer needed. Please do not have your child throw out any papers without asking me!
~There is a note section in the front of their folders. Please place any notes for school in this pocket. I will place any notes going home in this pocket as well.
~ Copybooks are expected to be kept neat and organized.
~All 4th grade work should be written in cursive!
I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
