We are so fortunate to have two parents, Heather Knob and Christine Perry, be our co-chairs for the Drama Club's Parent Coordinators this year. Many of you have already volunteered to be parent coordinators this year (thank you!), and these two ladies will be your points of contact for any questions, schedule changes, etc; that you may have regarding parent coordinators.

Christine Perry: email@example.com
If you have your clearances, please sign up for whatever you can- the more help the better! You do not have to sign up just for your own kid's rehearsals, but if we do have slots that need to be filled, we will first contact the parents of the kids rehearsing at those times, and then ask everyone else. We cannot hold a rehearsal if we do not have the parent coordinators there.
If you do sign up for a parent coordinator slot you will automatically qualify to be in our VIP ticket pre-sale line to get the best seats to the shows.
Thanks in advance for your time and effort, we could not do this show without everyone's help.
PARENT COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-At the beginning of rehearsal take attendance using the cast list found in the parent coordinator folder (Kept in the science lab). Add the date to the top and check off kids who are present. If a new group of kids arrives, do the same when their rehearsal starts. Please leave the attendance sheet and pen in the folder.
-To ensure the safety of the kids. Make sure they aren't hanging out in the bathrooms, going outside, touching equipment in the science lab, jumping off the stage, getting in fights, going in the kitchen, etc. No one should be on the stage or behind it unless they are rehearsing, and no one should be in the stairways going down to the math room. Of course, none of these things ever happen, but just in case...
-Do not leave until the last child has been picked up. Two adults need to stay until the last kid is picked up. Please call a producer if there is a child left and there is no word from the parents. Many times our directors will have to leave right away because they have other jobs to get to, so we need two parent coordinators to stay if the director is not able to.
-Help dismiss the kids to the parents. You will be given notes from the kids if they have carpool instructions, if they do not have a note they cannot go home with anyone except for their parent/guardian. One parent coordinator will also need to escort children to CARES if they have a note for CARES.
-Clean up after the kids, or even better, ask the kids clean up after themselves! The kids are used to doing this during the school day, and should be able to do so for us. Often times snacks get messy, there are brooms and cleaning supplies in the kitchen. Make sure the floors are clean and any trash is picked up. Any items left behind can be placed on the tables outside the lunchroom.
-Make sure the room looks like how we found it. Push tables and chairs back to where they belong.
-Turn off all lights and make sure the doors are locked. The directors have keys for the classroom door and music room. All the gym doors should also be locked (can be done from the inside). All bathroom lights should be turned off. (During basketball season the teams may be in the gym so there is no need to shut down the gym). The light mounted behind the stage by the light switches always stays on, as well as the foyer lights going in to the gym.
-During practice, try to help the directors keep the kids focused and on task. Sometimes the days get long and the amount of kids is large, and this can be hard. However, even just one kid can cause a lot of disruption. It is okay to pull a child aside, tell them to get a drink and take a break, or rearrange the seating arrangements to reduce temptation to not pay attention. Please inform the producers if one child is a continual problem so we can contact the parents.
Thank you, as always, for helping us make this a great experience for your kids!
